About
The Need
Human Trafficking and Sexual Exploitation are forms of modern-day slavery and they violate the basic human rights of every person enslaved by it. Unfortunately, Trafficking has been on the rise, and it must be stopped. Until then, victims and survivors must be helped.
As such, Rahab’s Redemption will provide an avenue of Recovery through Outreach and a Residential Life Recovery Program of nurture and love to help Stabilize and Restore the lives of each of the survivors.
About Rahab's Redemption
Rahab’s Redemption is an official Non-Profit 501c3 organization through the IRS and California FTB that is being modeled after the LA and Phoenix Dream Center’s Rescue Project Programs, which are multi-faceted programs specializing in trauma healing from sexual exploitation.
Nellie has met with and shadowed the administration and staff of Where Hope Lives, Phoenix Dream Center’s Rescue Program, to learn more about their highly successful strategy and best practices for development while awaiting Rahab Redemption’s Non-Profit 501c3 status, which was approved October 2024.
Rahab’s Redemption’s Rescue Facility will be built in a rural area of Southwest Riverside County. The planned facility will be built to facilitate a Family Systems Care Model of service which seeks to create the atmosphere of a nurturing and caring family. Each program participant will receive mentoring by trained advocates, residential care, life skills and career skills training, parenting skill classes, therapy and counseling, nutrition, the opportunity to receive their GED or High School Diploma, access to licensed physicians, and if needed legal help or help obtaining legal residency.
Why “Rahab's Redemption”?
In the story of Rahab’s redemption, we see a glimpse of God’s desire to take our mess – no matter how ugly or horrible it is – and redeem it by making it into something beautiful.
Rahab’s story begins in Joshua 2 just before the fall of the sinful pagan city of Jericho. In obedience to God’s command, when Israel conquered the city, they destroyed everyone who lived there, including women, children, and animals. They burned the entire city and cursed anyone who would even attempt to rebuild Jericho in the future.
But, right in the middle of the absolute devastation, the story of Jesus was found in a prostitute named Rahab. We never could have imagined such an outcast, the lowest of the low, an untouchable, being our hero, but God knew the powerful impact it would have if He used a sex worker from the pagan city’s version of Skid Row to save her family by helping Israel’s spies. Yes, there is no doubt – Rahab’s story pictures all that was to one day be restored by Jesus at the cross.
Later, Matthew listed Rahab by name in his genealogy of Jesus on purpose – it is a reminder for us that when we place our faith in Jesus, He redeems us fully by looking past our sins into who He will transform us into for His purposes.
This is why Rahab’s Redemption’s goal is to redeem the lives of victims of human trafficking and exploitation by restoring Hope and giving a future to every survivor through the love and compassion of Jesus Christ.

I believe in the power of God to change lives.
About Nellie
Nellie grew up in the Southern California foster care system. She became a mother at the young age of 19, and a single mother at 21 after leaving the abusive relationship. Nellie worked hard to provide a good life for her daughter, working through school to become a Police Officer (her dream job since childhood).
Nellie gave her heart to the Lord at the age of 28, shortly before being laid off from the police force during the recession of 2011. While being unemployed, she became a passionate student of the Bible, and later, an articulate teacher and preacher who loves to help people find hope and wholeness through a foundational understanding of the Bible and the truths that lie within.
Nellie was later hired to work at her church as the Administrative Assistant to her pastor who is also an Executive Presbyter for the SoCal Network AG Office. Nellie was appointed as a Missionary Associate to Southern Asia with AGWM in May 2020 became a licensed AG Minister in August 2020. Nellie served a year in Southern Asia before she returned to the U.S. in April 2022 when her visa expired. While waiting for her visa to be renewed, her pastor brought her back on staff as his associate to assist him through his transition to retirement. Unfortunately, Nellie’s visa was not able to be renewed, so she began to seek God for direction and a different country to serve in.
God had other plans for Nellie and He confirmed a call to open a Rescue Home for victims of human trafficking in the United States. Nellie was transferred from AGWM to Assemblies of God U.S. Missions (AGUSM) as an MA in October 2023, and she has been diligently working on pioneering the way for Rahab’s Redemption, the Rescue Home project God has put on her heart to build on the family land she lived on before she was placed in foster care.
