October 2024 Update!

ree

“Preach the word; be ready in season and out of season; reprove, rebuke, and exhort, with complete patience and teaching.” ~ 2 Timothy 4:2 ESV

The Apostle Paul is my hero—through his letters to Timothy, Paul gives me (and all Believers) wisdom on how to always be ready with the Gospel, regardless of our season.

This season of preparation and foundation building for the Rescue Home has felt like it has been moving at the speed of a glacier—a couple inches every millennium. For those who know me, I’m really good at diving in and getting busy with whatever God calls me to. Waiting for government agencies to do their part of the process? Definitely not my strength.

In the busyness of laying the giant paperwork foundations for Rahab’s Redemption, I have been studying processes used by other rescue organizations and working at building relationships that will be vital once things are completely ready to move forward.

Despite the pain in the waiting, God always comes through and He is gracious enough to give us glimmers of hope along the way. In this season, God has given me many opportunities to share the Gospel, advocate for missions at home and abroad, and also to raise awareness of Human Trafficking in the United States, and California in particular.

In 2 Timothy 2:15 Paul said, “Do your best to present yourself to God as one approved, a worker who has no need to be ashamed, rightly handling the word of truth.”

As I have worked to steward this season according to Paul's advice, the grace of God has been overwhelming at times. Recently, after sharing in a service, seven people responded to a call for those who feel called to missions!

Another praise report is that just last week I received the notice from the California Franchise Tax Board that the 501c3 application was been approved by the State! That means Rahab’s Redemption is officially a non-profit organization, and I can begin to move forward with the next layer of foundation building!

As much as I look up to the Apostle Paul, it is God Who truly is my Hero—He never fails. As we head into the holiday season that is around the corner, trust that God is your Hero too. Whatever we face, we face it with Him, and He will always come through.
